Photos from May 30: Matamoras, PA to Highland, NY June 1, 2015 by Dolly Thanks to improved internet connection, I am adding photos to my previous blogs: We can take our bikes to our rooms, unlike the motorcycles. One last crossing of the Delaware River. This historical sign with the outline of the state of NY confirms we are in fact there, no Welcome sign. At Otisville, mile 16, we said goodbye to Leilani and Jan. The prison wasn’t visible, but noticed this sign. In Bloomingburg, noticed a number of Hasidic Jewish men with fur hats, quite a controversy about them trying to take over the town. Beautiful dairy farming in Ulster County NY Someone likes skiing?? The Shawangunk Ridge in the background. Would have liked to stay in New Paltz but it was graduation weekend at SUNY. Great grilled cheese sandwiches with fellow cyclists. Did explore Huguenot Street, settled by Calvinist immigrants from northern France and southern Belgium. Huguenot Street, New Paltz. Our last 3 miles were on the Hudson Valley River Trail. Great bike parking stands. Took a preview of the Walkway Across the Hudson we will ride on tomorrow. View up the Hudson. Ice cream at the Frozen Caboose. Helping with dishes.
