April 17: Rest Day in St. Francisville
Spent the day with Don:
* No alarm wake up, leisurely light breakfast
* Headed to Baton Rouge to visit State Capitol Building (more active than most we have visited as legislature is in session, though no morning meetings
* Drove through L.S.U. Campus and found a Community Coffee house for mid-morning stop
* Don wanted to see the Mississippi River bridge we rode over, so drove to New Roads ( much faster in car than on bicycle)
* Lunch in New Roads at Ma Mama’s Kitchen
* Back to St. Francisville for chiropractic adjustment (thanks Dr. Travis and Sarah), a drive through historic district, some bike repairs, and a tour of the Butler-Greenwood Plantation, where some of our riders are staying
Tour guide and owner Ann Butler
* Tour of Oakley Plantation where Audobon painted 32 of his Birds of America, while tutoring the daughter of the plantation owner
* Dinner at the Clubhouse at The Bluffs at Thompson Creek where we are staying
